Since 2002, the Lake Erie Center (LEC) has been collecting data on water quality conditions in Western Lake Erie as part of an ongoing monitoring program. Constituents include physical parameters, nutrients, chlorophyll a, and harmful algal bloom (HAB) indicators. Funding for data collection has been provided by the following:
